How to Apply

Applications for the RNA Innovation program will open July 1 and close September 10, 2019 at 11:59 pm MST. Students currently enrolled or accepted into graduate studies are encouraged to apply. Students accepted into RNA Innovation can commence their studies in January 2020.

Interested applicants should have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in their last two years of undergraduate studies, although applicants with a lower GPA are still encouraged to apply if they have sufficient research and/or industry experience.

Please submit:

  • Application Form
  • Two letters of reference from academic or industry referees
  • Transcripts (undergraduate, MSc, PhD, as applicable)

Application documents can be sent to admin@RNAInnovation.ca. This opportunity is open to Canadian and international students. We encourage international students interested in studying at the University of Lethbridge to apply to graduate studies for the February 1st deadline to avoid visa issues and a delay to their start in the program. Women and visible minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Postdoctoral trainees must have completed their doctoral degree within the last five years to be eligible to participate in a CREATE initiative. Parental leave taken for child bearing or rearing is not counted as part of the five-year period.

In order to participate in the RNA Innovation program, students must also be enrolled at one of the participating institutions. Application to RNA Innovation is meant for the allocation of fellowships and participation in the program. While acceptance into RNA Innovation does not guarantee acceptance at your institution, being accepted into the program with an awarded fellowship could positively impact your academic application.  Please see the links for more information on how to apply for graduate studies:
